History of the shirtmaker John Miller
The municipality of Budel (now Cranendonck) in Brabant is the birthplace of the John Miller brand. John Miller is a brand of the family business Van Winkel Fashion: the shirt specialist since 1949. The founder Sjef van Winkel was sometimes bothered by unkempt cuffs and frizzy collar ends. That can get better! The John Miller brand has always stood its ground alongside Ledub and has become a high-quality brand with class.
Denim from John Miller
In addition to the regular fabrics, John Miller also offers shirts made of denim. These shirts are wonderfully soft and have a nice denim look. Choose between the colours blue, navy blue, grey and many others.
The start of John Miller in 1989
Van Winkel Fashion used to produce mainly for the Dutch army. Already in the 1960s, more than 1000 shirts, blouses and shirts were produced for the larger Dutch shops and clothing shops. In 1963, Van Winkel Fashion took the big step of launching Ledûb, the first own shirt brand for the upper middle class. John Miller joined in 1989 with shirts for the higher segment.
A John Miller shirt fit
John Miller shirts are available online in two different fits. A regular fit (or straight cut) John Miller shirt has a standard width and is designed for the slightly stout or tall (and strong!) man. The John Miller tailored fit has a slightly slimmer cut and therefore fits the body better.
- Slim Fit: extra slim fit
- Tailored Fit: slim fit
- Modern fit: normal fit
Sleeve lengths of John Miller shirts
John Miller shirts are available in three sleeve lengths: short sleeves (especially in summer), regular sleeves (sleeve length 6) and a slightly longer sleeve for taller men (sleeve length 7). In this way, John Miller offers a luxury shirt for every man's desire.
In addition to a basic collection (more business-like), John Miller offers new collections and designs every season. John Miller business shirts are a must for the modern businessman. Outstanding white shirts and suit shirts of the best quality, which can be combined with a refined tie, cufflinks or a luxury watch.
John Miller Shirts: Original Cotonissimo
Also known as Cotonissimo
The John Miller brand is also known as Cotonissimo. Cotonissimo was a label of the fashion house Van Winkel Fashion, which was known for its very high-quality fabrics made of 100% pure cotton. In 1989, the brand name John Miller was introduced with the addition of "Original Cotonissimo", which can still be seen on the shirts and is a nod to the past. Since 1995, the brand name John Miller has been used in its entirety, and only connoisseurs know how to recognise it.
