What is the difference between a jumper and a sweatshirt?
Differences and similarities of men's jumpers and sweatshirts
Sweatshirts and jumpers are basically very similar, because they both serve the same purpose and have an almost identical appearance. But where is the difference then? Quite simply, the jumper, which translated from English means something like "overcoat", is often made in a knitted look and different textile fibers such as virgin wool, cashmere wool, silk and cotton are used in the processing. Sweatshirts, on the other hand, are usually made only of cotton, often with an admixture of polyester. Sweatshirts are also, as the name also suggests, originally from the sports sector and therefore also often cut differently than conventional sweaters. A small variation of the sweatshirt can be found in the "hoodie", because this also has a hood. All in all, sweatshirts and jumpers differ only in the details and therefore it does not matter if you mix up the names once.

How to combine jumpers for men?
Jumpers can be perfectly combined with a pair of jeans, chino pants or sweatpants. So, depending on the occasion, to create an ideal outfit, you can choose from pretty much any type of pants. For the more formal business look, the sweater is best worn with chino pants or traditional suit pants. The trend here is also to wear a shirt under the sweater, so that only the collar of the shirt is visible. For a more casual look jeans or sweatpants are suitable, because these comfortable pants create a laid back impression.
How to combine sweatshirts for men?
Since sweatshirts are often more casual cut and also often have a hood, they are rather less suitable for a business look. For a casual look, however, sweatshirts are a perfect choice. So you should better combine them with a pair of jeans or sweatpants, as these are also suitable for a casual outfit. You can also wear chic sneakers with sweatshirts and combine them with a beanie. So overall, outfits with a sweatshirt have more of a loose casual character that is just right for leisure.
For what occasions are sweatshirts or jumpers suitable?
Jumpers can be worn chicly combined with chino pants even in the office. But you can't really go wrong with a cozy sweater for leisure activities or other occasions: on the one hand, it can be worn formally and elegantly, but on the other hand, it goes perfectly with a more casual outfit.
Sweatshirts are more suitable for leisure activities or relaxed evenings on the couch due to their yet casual character. However, if you combine them smartly and the dress code in the office is not too strict, you can wear them to work once. Otherwise, the sweatshirt is really only something for occasions that are more relaxed and where there is no dress code.
